Over£130,000raised for
RestartRugby
While the event recognised the very best in English
rugby it also raised vital funds for Restart Rugby,
theOfficial Charity of The RPA, withover £130,000
donated on the night.
The funds raised at theAwards are crucial to
thework of Restart Rugby, whichwas established
in 2001 to support professional playerswho have
suffered injury, illness or hardship.
RPAGroupCEO, DamianHopley, said: “On
behalf of everyone at the RPA and Restart Rugby
I would like to thank all thosewho attended the
Awards and for their incredible support of such a
worthy cause. Themoney raised on the night will
help to continue the outstandingwork Restart Rugby
is doingwith players both past and present.”
Since its inception Restart Rugby has spent over
£800,000, helping over 250 players.Money raised
on the night will not only go towards helping injured
and retired players, but also provide educational
support for those transitioning into life after
rugby, aswell as providing a 24 hour confidential
counselling service for RPAmembers.
