AGROTURISMO’S
For amore relaxed approach, then check out some of the amazing
Agroturismo’s on the Island. If youwant tobe near IbizaOld Town (Eivissa)
with its array of lively restaurants, bars andmarkets aswell as visit to
the protectedUnescoHeritage site of Dalt Villa, then tryCanArabi
(
) which is located approximately 3kmoutside of
Eivissa. It is situated inOrange groves andhas a stunningpool and
peaceful surrounds that are the perfect tonic to the late night revelry on
offer.
VILLAS
The ultimate status symbol on the Island is renting your own villa. There
are a number of sensational villas in spectacular locations that comewith
the expected highprice tag. From personal experience it’s essential that
you deal with a trustworthy rental companywhodeliver on the promises
made. There are a number of sharks on the Island all toowilling to take
yourmoney and not deliver. From personal experience, there is nobetter
company than…
Mi Casa TuCasa
(
)
+34680 564445. They are awell-established family run Rental Company
that have good-priced and suitably breath taking villas in their portfolio.
Having stayedwith them on several occasions and found Tom andChantal
Hoddell to be excellent hostswhowill do everything they can to ensure
you have a fantastic holiday, whatever your requirements.
Just thementionof Ibiza inevitablydraws a
marmite reaction.Manynon-believerswill recall
images of
IbizaUncovered
, the late ‘90’s TV series
documenting theantics of Club 18-30halfwits
whoflock to SanAntonio in their thousands every
summer in searchof the ‘ThreeS’s’ (andno, Sangria
isn’t oneof those). These sunburntmorons fill every
wakinghourwith foamparties, HappyHour shots,
MegaClubs and toe curling antics thatwouldmake
most people’s eyeswater. Think
The
Inbetweeners
without anyof thehumour and you’reon the right
track. This is so far removed fromwhat thismagical
Islandhas tooffer thatwe, at
ThePlayers’ Room
,
thought it about time toput the record straight.
Whentogo
May -Mid July; September &October
Theweather is hot enough inMay to enjoy the 80 beautiful beaches and coves the Islandhas to offer and it continues to be relatively quiet up until
early July. Once the school holidays begin then the Island starts filling up andmy advicewould be to avoid inAugust when it becomes a European
Zoo! Not sohelpful for current RPAmembers, but September onwards is a great time to visit and closing parties are the stuff of legend.
BEACHCLUBS
For some, themainstay of Ibiza holidays. There are plenty to choose from and eachhas
a different vibe to suit your needs. For peoplewatching, head toCala Jondal on the SW
Coast andpull up a seat at the BlueMarlin
(
)
on a Sunday. Book
a day bed in advance to avoiddisappointment and thenwatch as some of themore
extraordinary/jawdropping sights appear throughout the day. A sense of humour is very
important, inevitably helped alongby a couple of cocktails.
CottonBeachClub (CalaTarida)
Located in thewest side of the Islandwith its finewhite sand, this elegant and refined
BeachClub serves upgreat cocktails and Spanish influenced cuisine to a hip crowdwith
ambient DJ sets. 10a.m – 2a.m.
BeachHouse (Playad’enBossa)
Sister restaurant of the infamous El Chirringuito.Made a stunningdebut last seasonwhere
the locals raved about the relaxedold school scenewithgreat food, cocktails andDJs in
abundance. Definitelyworth a visit.
Salinas Beach
Whilst it gets busy in the summer, there is excellent food, livemusic and a great scene on
Salinas beach. Three BeachClubsworth visiting are:
MalibuBeachClub, JockeyClub
andSaTrinxa.

EPILOGUE
Ibiza really has something for everyone.
I first set foot on the Island ten years ago and instantly fell in lovewith the
place.
The people, the energy, the extraordinary sunsets and the fun are
inimitable and I enjoy a different experience every time I go back.
This is an all toobrief guide of what to do, when togo andwhere to stay.
There really is toomuch to do/see/enjoy in aweek, so all I would say is, if
you get the chance, pack your bags, get on a flight and soak it all up. Just
steer clear of SanAntonio and you’ll be in for an unforgettable time.
Hasta prontoChicos! x
ESSENTIALS
Definitely hire a car andmake sure you collect it from the airport,
otherwise you couldbe queuing/waiting for ages at remote pick up
locations. Not the ideal start to any holiday.
All global car rental companies operate out of Ibiza airport, but book early.
Be very careful about drink driving. La Policia are intent on cleaningup the
Island’s party reputation and anyone caught DUI will get suitably punished.
If you’re going out, get a local taxi, much safer all round.
