Regrettably, a small number of students andguestsput the safety
of themselves andothers at riskby their anti-social behaviour.
Offences broadly fall into twomain categories, anti-social or inappropriate behaviour and
malicious activation of the fire alarms or tamperingwith fire equipment.
Listedbelow are examples of behaviour which are considered completely unacceptable
in our buildings either from residents or their guests for whom they are responsible.
Incidentswill be referred to an ‘AuthorisedOfficer’ whowill determine if the issue can be
dealt with by them or referred to theUniversity. The student will be given the opportunity to
accept or deny the charge.
If the student accepts the charge then theAuthorised
Officer will deal with the case followingdue process
and a penaltymay be imposed. The student can appeal
against the penalty but not the charge if accepted.
If the charge is deniedby the student then it will be
referred to your University.
